One Shared Platform
Everything your lab works with lives in projects — data, software, analyses, and people.
One Shared
Platform
Research is scattered across instruments, storage, compute, and personal devices. DECTRIS D.LAB brings data, tools, analyses, and context together in one shared environment, giving your group a single home for its scientific work.
Projects
The organizational unit. Data, scripts, software, and members all belong to a project — not to a personal drive or inbox.
Data
Raw files, processed outputs, and metadata live in the project. Connected directly from instruments and lab storage.
Scripts & software library
Custom pipelines, analysis scripts, and public software libraries all live in the platform, containerized. Anyone authorized and on the project can find and run them.
Shared analysis space
One live view of what's running, done, and queued, so every member works from the same state.
Role-based access
Fine-grained control over who can view, edit, or run within a project. The PI has oversight, enabling them to coach and access scales for each member's role.
Rerun, Don't Rebuild
Past work reruns in minutes. Environments, scripts, and workflows are automatically preserved for every project member with access.
Rerun,
Don't Rebuild
Scientific progress shouldn't start from scratch. DECTRIS D.LAB turns past analyses into reusable assets, allowing your team to build on previous work, community tools, and proven methods in minutes, not days.
Containerized environments
Every run executes in an immutable container where software versions and dependencies are captured automatically. No environment to rebuild, no code to translate.
Rerunnable snapshots
Every run is a persistent snapshot of the full analysis state with data, parameters, environment, compute and outputs. Pick any snapshot, adjust a parameter, run again.
Script versioning & templates
Scripts are versioned automatically. Use a ready-made template, fork and adapt it, or build your own from scratch — all parameterizable and rerunnable.
30+ community tools, preinstalled
Analysis tools ready on day one. No install, no translation, no dependency conflicts.
Flexible compute
The same workflow runs a variety of available nodes, with CPUs and GPUs, from 2 to 192.
Real-Time Mentorship
Labs make decisions live in a shared, contextual record. Every comment and tag stays linked to the analysis, keeping team members updated on projects while giving PIs a full view.
Real-Time
Mentorship
The best scientific decisions happen through collaboration. DECTRIS D.LAB keeps researchers, postdocs, and PIs connected throughout the analysis process, enabling feedback, discussion, and mentorship where the work happens.
Lab activity overview
A live view of activity across all associated projects. As the lab owner, the PI can see the full lab — running analyses, completed runs, and open tasks — from anywhere, at any time.
Inline commenting
Comment directly on any analysis task at the moment of decision. Guidance and knowledge exchange lands where the work is happening, not in a follow-up email or lost in chats.
Tags
Lightweight labels on analysis tasks are visible directly in the analysis table. Add context, mark status, or flag something for attention without leaving the workspace.
Preserving Scientific Memory
Every decision, run, and data file stays in the project, not personal drives. When members leave, the lab’s knowledge remains.
Preserve Scientific Memory
A lab's most valuable asset is its accumulated knowledge. DECTRIS D.LAB preserves methods, decisions, analyses, and expertise so every project contributes to a growing body of knowledge that survives across generations of researchers.
Logbook
A per-project free-form journal, editable by all active members. Capture decisions, observations, and context that belong to the project, not to a personal notebook.
Data analysis history
A permanent record of every past run with data, parameters, software, and results. The full picture of what was done and how is preserved indefinitely.
File & data versioning
Files and data are versioned and recoverable. Nothing is permanently lost, and you can roll back to any prior state on demand.
Metadata capture
Every file carries its provenance, automatically captured by the system and enriched by user annotations. Context travels with the data.
Archiving
Move data to cold storage without losing access. Archived files remain visible and recoverable, so you can manage storage without erasing memory.

DECTRIS D.LAB is the science platform where the lab's data, tools, compute and analyses live in one place. It is the home for your scientific projects, from data to results, for the entire team.
Who is DECTRIS D.LAB designed for?
Chevron down
For academic research groups whose work scatters across too many systems. In particular, groups running experiments and analysis across distributed team members and locations.
Why should I use DECTRIS D.LAB?
Chevron down
Because DECTRIS D.LAB is the science platform where the lab can work as one team! Data, tools, analysis tasks and insights connect and grow in one place, so projects survive student turnover, past work reruns in minutes, and every result stays inspectable and shareable.
What are the main platform capabilities?
Chevron down
The platform is the home for your research projects, from managing files and access to executing analysis tasks and keeping a record of steps. D.LAB offers a complete workspacethat belongs to the lab, and does not stay isolated in individual workstations. It is one shared space for all lab data, scripts, and analyses; automatic environment versioning sopast work reruns in minutes without rebuilding; real-time collaboration tools — including alab activity overview, inline commenting on analysis tasks, and a shared analysis workspace— that keep the PI and the group in the loop as work happens; and a permanent scientificmemory — logbooks, run history, and versioned data.
Is DECTRIS D.LAB suitable for any Institute and Team?
Chevron down
Yes. D.LAB scales from small research groups to large multi-team labs and enterprise research institutions — including universities and large research facilities — with configurable workspaces, access control and team grouping per research project.
Can analyses be reproduced?
Chevron down
Yes. In DECTRIS D.LAB, data, software environment and the analysis tasks are captured as the group works, so one can rerun workflows and rest assured that the different states of files and libraries are kept.
